Border league race 4 info

Please remember this weekend sees the start of our 2011 Border League campaign, which is now on Race 4 of the series.

For those who have not yet tried a Borders event note they are FREE to enter for club runners with a full range of running abilities and any position you finish in can really benefit the club as points are awarded for each runner. Even if you don’t fancy being competitive they can act as great training runs also. http://www.bordersleague.org.uk

The event is organised by West Cheshire and looks to be a roughly 10k course starting from Cheshire View CH3 7PT where you can also park at the venue.

Directions and course details can be found on the Border League link above or a link directly to course map is below.

(For those who run the Christleton 5k in May, Cheshire View CH3 7PT is just past the start of that race, over the crossroads if travelling from the direction of the school). Race is 11.00am and it really would be great to see as many Helsby vests as possible! Any other questions just ask.

Liverpool & district XC championship results

Hi all – results for the weekend’s Liverpool & District XC Championships held at Clarke Gardens in Liverpool. http://www.lps-athletics.co.uk/l&d/

Helsby positions and times:

48th       Adair Broughton            39.32

99th       Steve Riley                   44.25

121st     Jane Ashbrook              46.31

128th     Phil Gillard                    47.29

155th     Jackie Keasley              53.35

It was a three lap course totalling just less than 6 miles that beckoned the green vest. Some strong wind in parts and muddy through the woods but generally not as wet/muddy as first envisaged after Saturdays constant rain.

Photos of the event are already beginning to appear on Mick Charman’s ever developing Flickr site:
