Quick reminder: the summer 2012 road and fell series are listed in the links over there on the right, together with the long trail series. Usual rules, complete enough of the series and collect points based on your position to be eligible for a prize. Separate standings for men, women and old folks.
Easter Sunday saw some Helsby runners deciding not to stay indoors eating Easter Eggs but to head out for a drizzly day in Runcorn for the 2nd road race in the Helsby Counters. Over 700 runners were out in total and 13 of those were from Helsby for the Halton Run the Bridge 5 Mile race. It has the potential to be a PB course but probably in better conditions (quite windy today) although some runners once again improved on their times from just a few days ago at the Spring 5 (Jayne, Roy and John and I presume Tom) to get PB’s anyway! Show’s what I know. Guess it was the thought of hot cross buns and a cup of tea at the end?
Helsby were in the prizes too with Albert, Carol and Alison securing age category victories and once again the Helsby ladies were on the podium for third in the team category. Brilliant.
Full results available from the following website but you will need to choose Run the Bridge in the drop down menu. http://www.chipresults.co.uk/Default.aspx

Once again well done to everyone and it was great to see Helsby in the prizes today but more importantly all the enthusiasm clearly on show.
Results are now available for the first Helsby race in the summer series.
This was the West Cheshire 5 Mile also known as the Spring 5 and a race also in the Cheshire GP Series.
For those interested in their Cheshire standings after this race some information should appear on the Cheshire AA site soon
Some great running once again from the 15 Helsby vests with Ian Landucci, just like at the Borders, crossing the line for the full points on offer. Jayne was first in for the ladies with what is a new PB. Jayne and Jane were both in the first ten ladies home, awesome! There were other PB’s on the night, I know Adrian and ED got one, possibly Roy? and Ian was surely close knocking on the door of the sub 30 minutes. Anybody else?
It was also great to see ex club member Brandon Taylor enjoying the English Spring having a run out with support from his brother Max. Mario was also out on the course offering support.
