My finishing time was 4hrs 51mins . Also just behind me was Karen Jones who is also a Helsby runner, placed also on the same time.

For a change the Snowdonia marathon had a dry sunny day but the wind was cold and made the run very chilly. I was happy to finish in a better time than last year.

The marathon itself is rated as one of the hardest to do in Europe [top five] and the hard work begins at 14miles [steady climb ]. It levels of and then at 20 miles, which is the worst part, and sees most runners walk the 2.5mile steep route to the top ,doesn’t help with the wind chill added, then down to the finish into the village.
