A quiet(ish) week for the Green Army, just one report in the inbox. If you raced last week and would like it included in the blog please fire it over to the usual email address: email@example.com.
We are still short on volunteers for our up and coming race on Sunday 5th March, ideally we could do with another 3-4, if you could oblige then email me please. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also would be great to see as many of the green army racing this one as well, think the record is 40 runners, would be great to smash it, it’s also a lovely course so if you haven’t raced for a while or are there every month, then the more the merrier unless you have kindly volunteered.
Parbold Hill Race
Report by Colin Bishop
My introduction into hill running, I have to say this is a well organised/marshalled race, route well marked out. A few surprises along the route, styles, and a few hay-bales to hurdle, gates to open, don’t think either of us expected them, a couple of hills and plenty of mud on a bitterly cold day. Think more mud than most XC’s we have done.Glad the snow and rain held off
With lots of raised eyebrows about my choice of footwear (road shoes) off I went…..Glad to say I stayed upright and managed a respectable 9th place, with a well deserved 13th Male place for Neil.
Congratulations to both of us in winning our age groups.
Thanks to Mario, Neil’s Dad and Jane for support
Cheers Colin B (AKA Bambi on Mud!!)
Well done to all who tackled a parkrun over the weekend, please find a link to the consolidated Helsby RC results below. Mark Gittins takes the award for furthest parkrun this week – Melbourne!! Can’t get much further than that! Well done mate and superb time too.
Also it’s a huge well done to Debbie Read who had a fantastic run to take first lady honours at Phoenix Park, it was once again a Helsby clean sweep! Ian was also on the podium with an excellent 3rd place after a closely fought battle with Steve Thompson. Well done troops!
That’s all this week, please let me know if I’ve missed any races or results.
