Welcome to this weeks round-up. The Borders pretty much dominated our weekend with us hosting a race this season and the Green Army can be proud of staging a fantastic event, kudos to Chris Fitzpatrick and Vanessa for working hard behind the scenes and putting it all together!

Helsby Vs Felsby
Ok so another big race weekend out of the way. Can only mean one thing, onto the next one. After the success of last years Helsby V Felsby, part 2 will take place very soon. For anyone who does not know about this then its a brilliant laugh, us roadies take on the Felsby crew and vice versa. We nominate a road race which will be our last borders league race on Weds 26th April, in Wrexham, this will be the 1st leg, and the Dinas Bran Fell race on Weds 3rd May will be the second leg, starting at 7.15pm.
All i need is for you to contact me, send me an email email@example.com or via Facebook, to let me know whether you are a road runner or a fell runner? I will then try and make the teams as fair as possible and work out a points scoring system. Would also be nice to have 2 new captains to rally the troops this year. It was brilliant to see the numbers increased at both races last year, and us roadies need to take the trophy off the Fell runners to restore a bit of pride, and before CBH’s head gets too big.
So who’s in? Stick the dates in your diary, everyone who turns up will be getting points for your team, so don’t just think you have to be fast, the more the merrier.
More details to follow soon.
First up is the belated results from last month’s 10k TT, apologies for the delay. It’s congratulations to Phil Roberts for a superb run to take first home honours and Danielle Ryder for another fantastic run to take the win for the ladies. The last and final one of the season is on 29th March. A reminder will go out nearer the time but please put this date in your diaries, it would be great to get a big turnout for the final one of the season.

2 Colin Thompson 42.26
3 Jay Bradley 45.25
4 Roy Gaskill 46.57

Borders League No.5 – Manley Mere
Rubbish weather but a fantastic race put on by the Green Army, a big thank you to Chris Fitz and Vanessa for working hard to deliver a fantastic race. Fitzy sent over a few words which are below:
To whoever was involved at todays race, whether it was giving up your time, running or supporting.
Well the weather certainly tried to put a spoiler on todays race but it did not dampen our spirits. Myself, Vanessa & Jackie would like to thank you all for giving up your spare time to help out with our Borders League race. The feedback on social media has been brilliant and plenty of people commented at the end of the race to say how much they enjoyed it. Even race adjudicator David Nalder had this to say.
Congratulations, great race. Nice course. Well organised and marshalled.
Man of many words, but considering the weather that was thrown at us we should all be extremely proud of putting on yet another great event, and it would not have taken place without you, so again, thank you very much.
Just waiting for the results now, but looks like the mens and ladies teams smashed it today.
See you all soon Chris, Vanessa & Jackie
Fitzy was correct, both the men’s team and ladies team smashed it on the day with a 3rd and 2nd team place respectively, with regards to the men’s team position I think that is the best result for a very long time, maybe since the Frodfather days so superb running chaps!
As for the individual performances there are just too many to mention but some stand out results belong to Debbie Read, Alison Halsall and Colin Bishop who all won their age categories. A massive well done everyone, it goes to show what a strong team we have when we get a big turn out!
Thank you to all the volunteers who marshalled on the day and Jane Bish for the fantastic cakes!

The Green Army was out in force on Saturday at the various parkruns and the ladies were the dominant force! It’s congratulations to Rachael Holden who was first lady home at Phoenix parkun and Janet Robertson was first lady at Ellesmere Port! Well done ladies and well done to everyone else who took part in a parkun.
