Mynydd mawr hill run details 30th may 2011 fell counter race 4

Hi all

This coming Bank Holiday sees our 4th Fell Counter, the Mynydd Mawr Hill Run. This has been a club favourite for a number of years, partly due to the short 4 mile course! with lots of support for what is a low key race but mainly due to the friendly atmosphere and refreshments afterwards.

Just past Oswestry is Trefonen with a small village hall, where registration will be. The race is at 11.00am. Details can be found on the entry form below (but please note it is entries on the day only)

Once you get to Trefonen you will be able to see signs directing you where to park. The postcode for the village hall is SY10 9DY

According to the entry form the course is mixed terrain (all very runnable) with 500’ of climb. There is also a junior’s race on the field by the village hall at 12.30.

Next fell counter is the delightful (and fairly short) Mynydd Myfyr race nr Oswestry held on Monday 25th May, and for those new to fell/hill running is a very highly recommended introduction……plus plenty of cake afterwards.

Tattenhall Tough Challenge. Teams of three, 9 mile multi-terrain race, road and trail up onto the Peckforton Ridge of the Sandstone Trail. An unusual event in that you need to get your team across the line together, since it’s the time of the 3rd member that counts…
